I’m right next to my Tile, why does it say it’s “Out of Range?”

UPDATE: Please read our important android marshmallow message if you are currently having issues connecting to your Tiles and are using an android device with Marshmallow 6.0.X on it.

It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen: you’re standing right next to your Tile with the app open and it just won’t connect!

Fortunately, it’s pretty easy to get your Tile connected again!

First things first, though, please make sure your phone and your app are updates to the latest version! These updates frequently resolve technical issues, because they improve general performance and reliability.

If upgrading didn’t solve the problem, you can either watch this video or follow the steps below it.

Bluetooth Refresh

  1. Turn off your phone or tablet for 2 minutes, then turn it back on.
  2. Turn your Bluetooth back on and reopen the Tile app.
  3. Be patient - it could take up to 2 minutes for your Tile to reconnect!

Did you share your Tile?

If you’ve shared access of your Tile with another user, or you’re using your Tile over multiple devices, it’s possible that the other phone is connected to your Tile.
