If you’ve found someone else’s Tile, there are a couple ways to get it back to its owner.
The Tile has a QR code on the back
Scan the QR code with your mobile device camera. If the owner of the Tile has marked it as lost and entered their contact information, it will show so you can coordinate the return of the Tile and lost item.
The Tile does not have a QR code or Contact Information is not available
Use the Tile app on your device within range of the Tile. Your app will automatically send an anonymous location update to the Tile owner.
- Download the Tile app and register for a free account.
- Find a safe location to leave the Tiled item.
- Log in and run the app next to the Tile for 2-5 minutes.
- Leave the Tile in the safe location and the owner will be notified.
Where the Tile app records the location of the Tile is where the Tile’s owner will know to come find it. If you don’t want that person to visit you at home or at work (or wherever you are) please make sure to take the Tile to a safe public location, like a Police Station or the front desk of where you found it, before you run the Tile app.
