Your Tile uses Bluetooth technology to make a connection with the app on your device. Once the Tile is within Bluetooth range and the connection is established, it relies on the GPS location services of your device to update the location information in your app. The Tile itself does not have GPS location services.
When the Tile moves out of the Bluetooth range, it loses its connection with your device and is unable to communicate its location to the Tile app. To track your Tiled items as they move in real time, they have to be within range. For example, to track your Tiled car keys in real time, the keys must be within Bluetooth range of your smartphone. The Tile Network can help you track moving objects. Whenever a person running the Tile app passes within Bluetooth range of your Tile, their device will automatically and anonymously update your app with your Tile’s most recent location. You’ll then receive a notification of your Tile’s last known location so you can go back there to find it. Our network continues to grow making it easier than ever to find what really matters.
