Lost and Found Labels
Lost and Found Labels are adhesive QR codes used to help return lost items to their owners.
- Activate the Label in the Tile app (see below).
- Stick Tile Lost and Found Labels to your things.
- If your item is lost, the finder can scan the QR code to view the contact information you added and return your item.
Stick your dishwasher-safe Lost and Found Labels to your favorite items like tablets, lunchboxes, and water bottles. Labels are not currently recommended for use on textiles and cloth.
Label glue gets stronger after 48 hours, so we recommend not trying to peel off or wash the Label until 48 hours after application.
Remember— as Labels are intended to provide contact information through the Tile app to anyone who finds your item, they do not provide location updates or notifications.
Activate My Lost and Found Label
To ensure successful Label activation, complete the following steps:
New User:
- Download the Tile App on your compatible smartphone or tablet.
- Tap Get Started
- Tap Activate a Tile
- Input Email and desired PW, tap Sign Up
- Enter 6-digit verification code from email
- Enable Permission Settings
- Select Label
- Tap Scan QR Code, scan QR code (you must allow Tile access to use your phone's camera)
- Tap Next, choose a category
- Name the Label, tap Save and Continue (you may also Skip this step)
- Add Contact Info (phone number, email, or both), then tap Save & Continue
- Tap Done
Existing User:
- Sign in to the Tile App
- Tap the + at the top left corner of the app
- Tap Activate a Tile
- Select Lost and FoundLabel
- Tap Scan QR Code and scan your Label’s QR code (you must allow Tile access to use your phone's camera)
- Tap Next, and choose a category
- Name the Label and tap Save and Continue
- Add Contact Info, then tap Save & Continue
- Tap Done
Note: if you do not see the option to add a Lost and Found label, please update your app to the latest app version.
Manage Lost and Found Labels
Once you’ve activated your Label, make changes by tapping the Label you want to edit:
Note:
- Hiding your Label will not deactivate or make it unfindable. Contact Customer Care if you need help deleting a Label and its contact information.
- Find My Phone will not work if you only have a Tile Lost and Found Label. The feature requires an activated Tile on your account to work.
