Tile uses Bluetooth technology to make a connection with the Tile app on your device. The Tile itself does not have GPS, or real-time location monitoring. When the Tile comes within Bluetooth range (100-feet up to 400-feet) and a connection is established, your mobile device will update the location of the Tile.
The location displayed in the Tile app is where the Tile was located the last time it made a successful connection with your device and the Tile app. If the Tile loses its connection to your device, it cannot communicate its location to the Tile app.
