Ring your Tile using Amazon Alexa
If you are using Alexa in English (US/Australian/Canada/UK) or German, use the following phrases to find with Tile:
- To ring your Tile, say: “Alexa, ring my Keys.”
- To find out the last known location of your Tile, say: "Alexa, find my keys.“ or "Alexa, where are my keys?”
Note: If you are in a country where the Tile Skill is available, but Alexa does not support your language, please use the English phrases above to find your Tile. (i.e. You live in Canada but Alexa does not support French.)
If you have multiple Tiles on the same kind of item: Alexa will ask you to identify exactly which Tile you are looking for.
Important: The Alexa device does not ring Tile directly. There are three things that are needed for Ring Your Tile using Amazon Alexa to be successful.
- A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or Cellular Data) is needed for both the Alexa speaker and mobile device to trigger the Tile app on the mobile to search for the Tile.
- Both your Tile and phone must be within Bluetooth range and connected to each other for Amazon Alexa to ring your Tile and phone.
- For iOS devices, the Tile app should be running in the background.
Amazon Alexa can't connect to or ring my Tile
Make sure your Amazon Alexa device is connected and working by trying another easy action such as checking the weather. (i.e. “Hi Alexa, What’s the weather like today?”)
Update the Tile app version if:
- Unable to log in to Tile on Alexa
- Alexa says not logged in now, but worked fine before
- Cannot ring Tile from Alexa now, but was able to before
If the problem persists after updating the Tile app version, reach out to Customer Care at the bottom of this page.

To disable:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap on Apps.
- Scroll down and tap on the Tile app.
- Tap on Permissions.
- Toggle “Pause app activity if unused” to Off.
Note: Battery set to unrestricted does not have any effect.
