Sharing a Tile means you authorize someone to update the Tile’s location, ring the Tile, look for its last known location on the map, and ask to be notified when the Tile is found.
Each Tile can be shared with one other member. To share with unlimited members, subscribe to Tile Premium or Premium Protect.

Share My Tile
Share your Tile using email
- In the Tile app, select the Tile you want to share.
- Scroll down to and select Unlimited Sharing.
- Next to the envelope icon, type the email address of the person with whom you would like to share your Tile, then tap on Share.
- iOS only: On the pop-up, tap on OK.
Note: If the person you invited does not have a Tile account, they will receive an invitation to create a Tile account.
If you share your Tile with someone with a Tile account, you will get a notification in your app that it was successfully shared. They will not be notified that a Tile has been shared with them; it will show up on the home screen of their Tile app.
They may need to refresh their Tile home screen to see the newly-shared Tile.
Share your Tile using a link
- In the Tile app, Select the Tile you want to share.
- Scroll down to and Select Unlimited Sharing.
- Select Share a Link.
- In the pop-up menu, Select how you want to send the link.
- The link will automatically copy and paste.
- Send the link.
Share your Tile with a Contact
- In the Tile app, Select the Tile you want to share.
- Scroll down to and Select Unlimited Sharing.
- Select Share with Contacts
- Select the contact you want to share with.
- iOS Only: Select where you want to send the link to. (i.e. the contact’s email address or phone number)
- Edit the message, if needed, then send it.
View Who My Tile is Shared With
- In the Tile app, Tap the Tile you want to view.
- Scroll down to and Select Unlimited Sharing.
Unshare your Tile or Phone
- In the Tile app, Tap the Tile you want to unshare.
- Scroll down to and Select Unlimited Sharing.

- Tap Edit at the top right corner of the screen.
- Tap the red minus sign to the left of the email address you want to unshare.
- Tap Unshare.

- Tap the X to the right of the email address you want to unshare.

Repeat the steps for additional members you want to share or unshare your Tile’s location with.

View/Remove the owner of the Tile or Phone
- The shared Tile appears in your app with shared.
- Tap the shared Tile or phone.
- Scroll down to and Select Shared by to see who shared their Tile or phone with you.
- To remove a shared Tile or phone, tap on Unsubscribe.
Identifying a Shared Tile or Phone on the Map view in the Tile app
A green Tile location pin indicates that the Tile or phone is shared with you.
If you share your Tile or phone with another person, your Tile or phone will appear as a green location pin on their Tile app.
A black location pin indicates that you own that Tile or phone.
Sharing a Tile on an iOS or Android device
You can share a Tile or phone even if you are using a different device (iOS or Android) than the person you would like to share the Tile with. The Tile app must be downloaded on a compatible device.
Tile Location Updates with a Shared Tile
The Tile or phone must be connected and within Bluetooth range for its location to update.
Both you and the person the Tile or phone is shared with can see the Tile's location as long as you both have a data or Wi-Fi connection.
if one of you is not within Bluetooth range of the Tile or phone, the person connected to it can share an updated location with you.
