Create an account using your email address
iOS devices
- Download the Tile App on your compatible smartphone or tablet.
- Open the app and tap on Get Started.
- In the Add a Device screen, choose which Tile Enabled Device you wish to activate.
- If you are not activating a Tile Enabled Device, tap on Skip at the top right corner of the screen.
- In the Sign Up screen, enter a valid email address to use with your account. You'll use this to log into the app moving forward.
- Create a password. Passwords are case-sensitive and must include one letter, one number, and be at least 8 characters long.
- Tap on Sign Up.
- You'll receive a 6-digit confirmation code in the email address you provided. When the app prompts for it, enter the code to verify your email address.
- Follow the prompts to allow the Tile app to access Bluetooth and Push Notifications.
- Set up Location Access in two steps:
- To complete Step 1, select Tap to select 'Allow ONCE'.
- Tap on Allow Once.
- To complete Step 2, tap Set Location to 'ALWAYS'.
- In the Settings screen for the Tile app, select Location.
- Set Allow Location Access to Always.
- Ensure that Precise Location is switched On.
- Exit from Settings and go back to the Tile app.
- In the Confirm Your Location screen, confirm that the pre-filed Country and Zip/Postal Code is your correct location.
- If it is correct, Tap on Continue.
- If it is incorrect, enter the correct Country and Zip/Postal Code and Tap on Continue.
- In the Tile app, you'll see the message "All Set!". You are now ready to activate your first Tile.
Android devices
- Download the Tile App on your compatible smartphone or tablet.
- Open the app and tap on Get Started.
- In the Add a Device screen, choose which Tile Enabled Device you wish to activate.
- If you are not activating a Tile Enabled Device, tap on I Don't Have a Device at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Sign Up screen, enter a valid email address to use with your account. You'll use this to log into the app moving forward.
- Create a password. Passwords are case-sensitive and must include one letter, one number, and be at least 8 characters long.
- Tap on Sign Up.
- You'll receive a 6-digit confirmation code in the email address you provided. When the app prompts for it, enter the code to verify your email address.
- Set up Location Access in two steps:
- To complete Step 1, tap on Next, then select WHILE USING THE APP.
- To complete Step 2, tap on Next, then select the radio button for Allow all the time.
- Beginning Android 12, you have the option to toggle Use precise location to On.
- In the Confirm Your Location screen, confirm that the pre-filed Country and Zip/Postal Code is your correct location.
- If it is correct, Tap on Continue.
- If it is incorrect, enter the correct Country and Zip/Postal Code and Tap on Continue.
- Tap the Back button at the top left corner of the screen to go back to the home screen of the Tile app. You are now ready to activate your first Tile.
Note: You have the option to tap on Skip if you do not want to add your Country and Zip/Postal Code during the account creation process. However, if you sign up for Tile Premium or Premium Protect and register your Tiled items through Item Reimbursement, you will be asked again to enter this information and will not be skippable.
