When a Tile button is pressed, a tune plays that indicates an action. Click on any tune below to hear it.
Single Press Tunes
This tune plays when the Tile button is pressed to start the activation process.
- Unactivated Tiles only: If the Tile button is pressed once and there is no sound it could mean a dead battery.
This tune plays when the Tile button is pressed once, and the Tile app detects and activates the Tile. The activation is successful when this tune plays and the app screen shows “Tile Activated”.
Double Press Tunes
Find Your Phone (FYP) “Heartbeat” Tune
This tune plays when the Tile is double-pressed, and the Tile app is attempting to connect with your phone. This can be heard if the Tile app is not running on the phone and the Tile is trying to connect.
Find Your Phone (FYP) “Success” Tune
This tune plays when the Tile button is double-pressed to indicate that the connection to the phone is successful.
Note: If Find Your Phone is disabled in the Tile Details screen on the app, the Tile will still play this tune, but the phone will not display any notification and will not play any sound.
Find Your Phone (FYP) “Failure” Tune
This tune plays when the Tile button is double-pressed, but the Tile cannot communicate with the Tile app to ring the phone. For this feature to work, the Tile must be in Bluetooth range of the phone.
Other Tunes
This tune plays if the Tile button is pressed too many times during the activation process.
Haptic (Double Beep) Tune
For 2024 Tile models connected to the Life360 app, this tune plays if the Tile button is triple-pressed to send an SOS alert.
This tune plays when the Tile is not detected by the app. The Tile did not activate and went back to sleep (timed out). No Tile button press is required for this tune to play.
No Tune
If your Tile does not play a tune when you press any button, the battery may be dead. The Tile Mate (2018 and 2020) and Tile Pro (2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024) have replaceable batteries.
For 2024 model Tiles connected to the Life360 app, if the Press Action is set to Discreet SOS Alert, the Tile will not play a tune if double pressed.
