The dashboard is your summary view of everything going on with Jiobit. This view will look different whether your loved one is with you or away from you.
Depending on your Jiobit’s whereabouts, a status bar will appear at the top of your dashboard. Learn how your Jiobit is connected to a signal, and how it is displaying location information.
Something to note: When the Jiobit is receiving poor cell reception, due to environmental factors or external damage (See Jiobit Connection Interference), the Jiobit battery will drain faster due to the increased work to send a location update.
If your Jiobit is damaged it should be replaced to avoid malfunction: Replace My Old or Damaged Jiobit
TRACKING
The Jiobit uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks to provide location updates when outside of a Trusted Place and away from you or the Care Team.
When the Jiobit is away from you, the app will use smart tracking to update location details every 15 minutes. During this time TRACKING mode will be displayed in the app and is used to see where the last location report was generated.
WITH YOU AT HOME
This status means that the Jiobit is connected to your phone via Bluetooth. During this time the app is relying on your phone’s carrier and GPS signals to update the app.
HOME
If the Jiobit is not “with you” or connected to Bluetooth but is still located within your primary Trusted Place, the Jiobit status will indicate it is at "Home.”
CONNECTING TO JIOBIT
If the Jiobit is in a poor coverage area or something is blocking the signal to the device, the app may display the message CONNECTING TO JIOBIT. While the Jiobit works to establish an updated location, it will display the last known location.
RESERVED BATTERY
When battery levels are below 5%, the Jiobit will display a “Reserved Battery” message. While the app will display the last known location of the device, you will not be able to access Live Mode for step-by-step tracking until the Jiobit is charged.
In this mode, the only connection that can be made to the device is via Bluetooth.
LIVE MODE
Click the "LIVE" icon to enable Live Mode for real-time tracking.
Live mode is unavailable if the Jiobit is inside of a Trusted Place or with a Care Team Member
SEPARATION ALARM ON
This status indicates the Jiobit’s “ virtual leash" is enabled, in this state the Jiobit is tethered to the phone via Bluetooth.
This feature should only be used in outdoor areas with the least amount of obstruction. Some great examples are:
Outdoor Parks
Amusement Parks
Forest Preserves
WANDERED OFF
The Jiobit has “Wandered Off” when it is outside of Bluetooth range of the phone while Separation Alarm is ON. Once the Jiobit leaves the Bluetooth range (average 30 ft.), the app will first show "WANDERED OFF," and then "DISCONNECTED"
DISCONNECTED
This indicates that the Jiobit is no longer in the bluetooth range of your cell phone. The "Separation Alarm" should be turned off to allow the Jiobit to switch to cell connections to update its location.
UPDATING
When the Jiobit app is “Updating,” the Jiobit can only show its last known location until it's able to pick up a new signal.
The Jiobit will update its location every 15 minutes outside of a "Trusted Place".
POOR SIGNAL
The Jiobit is unable to establish a reliable connection. This can be caused by a metal obstruction to the antennas on the gray side of the Jiobit or damage to the device. See Jiobit Connection Interference
PHONE DOESN’T HAVE INTERNET
If your app is displaying this message, you do not have enough cellular coverage on your phone to connect to the Jiobit device.
LOW LOCATION ACCURACY
With “Low Location Accuracy,” your Jiobit sees a limited number of signals and can only provide a general location rather than pinpointed location.
JIOBIT IS UNABLE TO FIND ITS LOCATION
Jiobit is unable to get online. This usually happens if the Jiobit has been out of battery for an extended period of time.
OUT OF BATTERY
The Jiobit is out of battery. Charge to receive location updates.
