If you see any of the following error messages when trying to change your Tile account email address, you can resolve them by following the steps below.
No Connection. Please check your internet connectivity.
- Ensure your cellular or Wi-Fi data connection is working, then try changing your account email address again.
Please enter a valid email.
- Enter your new email address carefully, and verify before tapping Next.
The new email address is already taken.
- Use another email address that does not have another Tile account.
- If an email address you would like to use shows that it is already in taken and you have access to this email, contact us so we can assist you.
Must include at least 8 characters.
- Enter your password carefully. If you have forgotten your password, visit our Password Recovery page for help.
- Passwords are case-sensitive and must include one letter, one number, and be at least 8 characters long.
Failed to send password reset email.
- The email functionality may not be working at the moment. Try changing your account email address again at a later time.
Invalid code
- If you received the confirmation code less than 60 minutes ago, try entering it carefully. If it has been more than 60 minutes, the code has expired. Tap the link, Don't have the code? Send again.
Unable to type new email address (Grayed Out)
- The option to update your email address will be grayed out if you have a pending Item Reimbursement claim.
- (Android devices) If you previously used Facebook to log in to your Tile account.

- Sign out and then sign back into your Tile account.
- You will need to create a new password.
- Type your new password, then tap Save.
- Passwords are case-sensitive and must include one letter, one number, and be at least 8 characters long.
- Sign back into your account.
- Follow the steps in Change My Tile Account Email Address.
Maximum number of attempts
Error message: You have reached the maximum number of attempts.
- You may have entered the incorrect confirmation code more than three times. After you tap OK on the error message, the app returns to the Settings screen. Start the process again by completing the following steps:

- Select Manage Account.
- Select Email.
- Enter your new email address.
- Enter your Tile account password.
- Tap Next. You will receive a new confirmation code in the new email address you provided.
Enter the new confirmation code provided in the email. The Tile app then displays, "Your email address has been changed." You will also receive an email in your old email address informing you your Tile email address has been updated.
